About Toriga Energy...

Toriga was established in 2011 and have been involved in the Green Deal since conception. We have worked extensively with DECC and other Government departments to ensure that the Green Deal can be workable, consumer friendly and accessible to everybody.

We unlock consumer demand, arrange the assessment, recommend the Contractor to install the measures, arrange financing and manage the contract administration over the life cycle of the Green Deal Plan.

About Toriga Energy


We signed a statement of intent (MOU) with DECC in April 2012 and are recognised as one of the Pioneer Green Deal Providers seeking to be the first to be able to offer Green Deal Plans. We've been working with MRASCo and the Energy companies to ensure the successful implementation of the Green Deal for Go Live in October 2012.

We agreed a Strategic Alliance with The Travis Perkins Group in April 2012 that hope to provide a comprehensive Green Deal proposition for consumers and the trade from assessment, product specification, financing and installation.

We also have a partnership with PPL training to deliver Green Deal Accredited training for advisors and installers. This will include specific training on the Toriga Platform and iPad app.

Business Processes

We have developed an integrated Green Deal Business Process that delivers an end-to-end solution in a fully accredited environment.

We engage directly with consumers and are building a network of Green Deal Accredited Assessors and Installers who are trusted and support the local communities.

To ensure that Toriga will be able to write the most competitively priced Green Deal Plans and to ensure that these are installed with the least inconvenience to the consumer we rely heavily on technology to underpin these processes which run on the Toriga IT Platform.

Quality Assured

We only use Green Deal Accredited Assessors, Advisors and Installers. All our installations through our Green Deal Plans will be warranted in line with The Green Deal Code of Practice.

Our IT systems are hosted in an ISO 27001 environment.

Our People

Richard Hildyard - Chairman & CTO

Richard, Bsc(hons) Law & Maths, MBA (distinction) helped set up the Graphic Arts Sector at Xerox before becoming Operations Director at Freshfayre in 2002. From 2008, Richard set up, managing technical information across the food industry. Winner of VentureFest that year Richard sold the software behind foodspecifications to Sun Branding Solutions in 2013 but still likes to keep involved.

Responsible for the overall business, but especially the Business Processes and Technology Infrastructure behind Toriga, Richard worked with Gemserv and the Green Deal Working Group to help design the plumbing for the Green Deal.

Tom Garnett - Director of Business Development

Tom is a Chartered Surveyor with over 20 years experience within the construction industry, the creator of the concept, and co-founder of Toriga, Tom is responsible for developing and managing our relationships with the utility companies and our major partners.

Tracey Broadbent - Operations Director

Tracey has had a successful career in both Consultancy and Senior Management in a number of FTSE 100 organisations. With a background of supporting organisational change and development in highly regulated environments including utilities, she brings her experience in Group, Contact Centre, On-line and Retail environments to Toriga. As Operations Director Tracey is responsible for the Customer Service, Audit, Sales and Technical Monitoring teams.
