About Toriga Energy...

Toriga was established in 2011 and have been involved in the Green Deal since conception. We have worked extensively with DECC and other Government departments to ensure that the Green Deal can be workable, consumer friendly and accessible to everybody.

We will unlock consumer demand, arrange the assessment, recommend the Contractor to install the measures, arrange financing and manage the contract administration over the life cycle of the Green Deal Plan.

Partnerships

We signed a statement of intent (MOU) with DECC in April 2012 and are recognised as one of the Pioneer Green Deal Providers seeking to be the first to be able to offer Green Deal Plans. We've been working with MRASCo and the Energy companies to ensure the successful implementation of the Green Deal for Go Live in October 2012.

We agreed a Strategic Alliance with The Travis Perkins Group in April 2012 that hope to provide a comprehensive Green Deal proposition for consumers and the trade from assessment, product specification, financing and installation.

We also have a partnership with PPL training to deliver Green Deal Accredited training for advisors and installers. This will include specific training on the Toriga Platform and iPad app.

Business Processes

We have developed an integrated Green Deal Business Process that delivers an end-to-end solution in a fully accredited environment.

We engage directly with consumers and are building a network of Green Deal Accredited Assessors and Installers who are trusted and support the local communities.

To ensure that Toriga will be able to write the most competitively priced Green Deal Plans and to ensure that these are installed with the least inconvenience to the consumer we rely heavily on technology to underpin these processes which run on the Toriga IT Platform.


Quality Assured

We only use Green Deal Accredited Assessors, Advisors and Installers. All our installations through our Green Deal Plans will be warranted in line with The Green Deal Code of Practice.

Our IT systems are hosted in an ISO 27001 environment.


Our People

Gary Bell

Gary was previously the co-founder and Managing Director of Freshfayre, a chilled food wholesaler, which was sold to The Brake Group in December 2009 and after a period of transition Gary left the company in September 2011. In 2001 Gary co-founded an IT company focused on developing software solutions for the emerging mobile computing market. Gary was also co-founder of SK Chilled Foods, a manufacturer of chilled snack foods, which was sold to an American owned company in 1999.

Gary now looks forward to bringing to Toriga his wealth of experience in building new businesses and being part of an exciting new business sector.

 

Tom Garnett

Tom is a Chartered Surveyor with over 20 years experience within the construction industry. As well as co-founding Toriga, Tom is also Managing Director of Energy Review Ltd and LZC Installations Ltd.

 

Richard Hildyard

Richard, Bsc(hons) Law & Maths, MBA (distinction) helped set up the Graphic Arts Sector at Xerox before becoming Operations Director at Freshfayre in 2002. From 2008, Richard set up foodspecifications.com, managing technical information across the food industry. Winner of VentureFest that year Richard is still involved with foodspecifications as a non-executive director.

Responsible for the Business Processes and Technology Infrastructure behind Toriga, Richard has been working with the Green Deal Working Group to help design the plumbing for the Green Deal.
